Crystal River 2024

Troop 344’s high adventure experience was a scuba diving certification and adventure to Crystal River, Florida. Scuba certification began by completing an online course in Ohio. In Florida there were three days of instruction which included five confined water dives and two open water dives in fresh water springs and rivers. After we everyone was scuba certified we did an additional drift dive in the Rainbow River, one of the local crystal clear spring fed rivers which has up to 200 feet of visibility. In addition, we snorkeled with manatees, swam in the Gulf of Mexico, and kayaked for a day on the Chassahowitzka River.
